We are proud to see what Steve is doing!
What started in 2018 as a small exchange between two colleagues has grown into a global bridge for our local students.
We recently celebrated the 8th round of our Japan Card and Video Exchange Project. This year alone, more than 500 students from 30 different U.P. classrooms connected with peers in Tokyo!
This year, CCISD Career and Technical Education Business and Entrepreneurship instructor Steve Kass traveled to Japan to visit the classrooms and educators who have become such an integral part of our students' learning journey.
While in Japan, Steve finally met his longtime project partner, Mr. Masahiro Nagashima. He even had the chance to tour the schools our local students have been corresponding with.
The CCISD is excited to offer this project again for the 2026-27 school year. It’s an amazing way to share the world within the classrooms and build friendships that span oceans.
